Silver is a synthetic fiber mixed of Danline and Polyester yarn.
Polyester is a sinking fiber with density of 1.38. Danline is a buoant fiber with density 0.91. The combination of the two gives a slightly negatively buoyant rope of 1,1 and is offering the best of both worlds in terms of tensile strength and abrasion resistance. We use Silver especially in our longline ropes and end ropes.
Fiskevegn’s twisting department blends Danline and Polyester fiber to its famous Silver yarn, which allows for an ideal all round fishing rope. Silver provides far better performance for a number of applications than either of its two components on their own, and is often impregnated with either tar or poly based impregnation.
